so to end that argument
the horns are not bones
the skull has these two holes, sort of, and the horns grow from them
i’d say they’re made of a less hard material than their skull
and probably they have nerves in their center, like rams do
they’re also not covered by skin *obviously*
so i’m still conviced that they’re not really sensitive on the outside
i guess it’d only kinda hurt if you broke them

i think that must’ve hurt
but it wouldn’t be as painful as cutting off your finger or breaking a bone
eventually the nerves die and lose sensitiveness
Horns are usually keratin so they’re probably made of keratin, same as hair and nails. They may possibly be covered by a velvet like a deer’s antlers are, but the overall horn would be keratin, indeed with a blood vessel inside, which can presumably help temperature control if that is indeed the anatomy of a troll horn.
